Erdemir offers disinfectant support to regional schools

Turkey's leading flat steel producer Erdemir is continuing to fulfill its responsibilities towards Karadeniz Ereğli. On Monday, September 6, Erdemir delivered 19,350 disinfectants to the Karadeniz Ereğli District National Education Directorate for being distributed to regional schools to protect the health of students and teachers who began face-to-face education, and ensure that education is continued under hygienic conditions.  

Since the first day of the Covid-19 pandemic that affected the world and our country, Erdemir continues to implement its measures at the highest level.  Providing support to the schools in Karadeniz Ereğli for disinfectant, one of the major needs of the pandemic, Erdemir thus meets the hygiene needs of students and teachers who began face-to-face education.

Accordingly, Erdemir Human Resources Director Atilla Yelboğa handed over 19,350 disinfectants to the Karadeniz Ereğli District National Education Director İsmail Aksoy at a ceremony held at Kavaklı Primary School on Thursday, September 9, 2021 for being delivered to 93 schools in the region. Aksoy also stated that Erdemir provides support for all areas of education, and thanked Erdemir for its contributions. 

Provides contribution to schools in the region since the very first day

Erdemir, an OYAK Mining Metallurgy company, has been the lifeblood of the region and industry in Karadeniz Ereğli for 56 years. Erdemir prioritizes education, and built and delivered seven schools to the Ministry of National Education. Erdemir contributes to the improvement of physical conditions by meeting the technical equipment, maintenance, repair, and training materials demands of educational institutions as much as possible and to activities in science, culture and arts and sports. In the first quarter of this year, Erdemir provided 1,245 tablet computers for students, who do not have access to distance education, and helped to address the shortcomings of rural schools under the "My School is Clean" document.
