Plans to establish a coal enhancement plant in Zonguldak Alacaağzı
Erdemir Maden is planning to establish a 675,000-ton capacity Launder Facility annually to ensure the coals extracted from underground at Alacaağzı in Kandilli Town, Ereğli District, Zonguldak meet the quality standards required for industrial and other uses and to put the coal in the market. The goal of the Launder Facility is to establish a Coal Stock area, Slime and Schist storage area, as well as to qualitatively and quantitatively enrich the run-of-mine coals extracted from the underground operating area. The enriched coal is primarily used in the iron and steel industry, as well as in other industries such as casting and cement, and in energy production.
