TEKNOFEST 2025, which Erdemir will support as a Platinum Sponsor, will welcome visitors at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between September 17 and 21.
At TEKNOFEST 2025, OYAK, together with its subsidiaries Erdemir, Hektaş, Miilux OY, OYAK HORSE, and OYAK Portfolio, will support young people’s passion for technology and innovation. Türkiye’s leading flat steel producer Erdemir will act as Platinum Sponsor of the event held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport from September 17 to 21, 2025.
Erdemir to showcase steel production and innovative applications
At its TEKNOFEST booth, Erdemir will explain the journey of pellet to steel through a 3D video presentation viewable with VR glasses and will introduce its innovative applications to visitors. At Booth G5, Erdemir will present its Unmanned Crane Application Project, developed to eliminate occupational safety issues in crane transport, increase efficiency, and contribute to digital transformation goals.
As part of its Net Zero Roadmap, Erdemir continues its innovative investments; by accelerating the transformation of steel through solar power plants, carbon capture and storage technologies, production systems based on hydrogen and biochar, alternative fuel production via pyrolysis facilities, modern coke batteries, and energy efficiency projects, the company aims to reach the net zero carbon target by 2050.
Hektaş to present space agriculture
As a pioneer in Türkiye’s agricultural sector, Hektaş will showcase vertical farming systems enabling agricultural production in weightless and soilless environments, sensor-based irrigation solutions reducing the effects of drought, and remote pest monitoring technologies allowing early intervention at TEKNOFEST 2025.
Vertical farming systems, offering agricultural production with artificial lighting without soil or sunlight, provide up to 95% water savings compared to traditional methods. Minimizing pesticide use and preventing soil pollution from chemical fertilizers, these systems also eliminate logistics needs in city centers, facilitating access to fresh food. Vertical farming systems enabling fresh vegetable and fruit production in space are considered an indispensable production model not only for urban farming but also for the future space economy and new human habitats.
The sensor-based irrigation system displayed by Hektaş detects moisture levels in different soil layers, allowing irrigation systems to operate according to the plants’ needs. This system increases agricultural productivity while mitigating the adverse effects of drought through water savings.
Digital pest monitoring systems, employing AI, IoT, deep learning, and image processing technologies, detect pest populations in real-time, attracting them into pheromone-based traps. The system analyzes trapped pests via camera, enabling early detection and diagnosis. Pests causing significant yield losses, such as the codling moth in apples and pears, can be monitored regularly and precisely through these digital pest monitoring systems.
Miilux OY to exhibit advanced technology products
Miilux OY, Türkiye’s only armored steel producer, will exhibit an armored vehicle cross-section, a submarine model, and sample steel plates at TEKNOFEST . Acquired by OYAK in 2019 to reduce Türkiye’s dependence on imported armored steel, Miilux OY now provides all armored solutions required for land vehicles, including main battle tanks. Achieving the capability to produce all submarine steels domestically, Miilux OY places Türkiye among the few countries in the world producing submarine steel. Miilux OY made its first export to Azerbaijan in 2024 and aims to expand its export network to global markets.
OYAK HORSE to participate with HR18 engine
OYAK HORSE, the only manufacturer of engines and gearboxes for passenger vehicles in Türkiye, will introduce its state-of-the-art HR18 engine for hybrid vehicles at TEKNOFEST. The company will also display the aluminum engine block, one of the engine’s key components, produced in high-pressure aluminum injection facilities. OYAK HORSE will present the production stages of the HR18 engine step by step to visitors through a specially prepared promotional film. OYAK HORSE R&D engineers will introduce the HR18 engine throughout the event and respond to visitors’ questions.
With an annual production capacity of 470,000 engines and 390,000 gearboxes, producing one engine and one gearbox approximately every 50 seconds, OYAK HORSE exports around 75% of its production.
OYAK Portfolio to showcase its broad product range
OYAK Portfolio will participate in TEKNOFEST 2025 with its wide range of investment funds, pension funds, and portfolio management products. Through Venture Capital Investment Funds (VCIFs), OYAK Portfolio will introduce innovative companies in technology, finance, and mobility sectors to visitors via a promotional film specially prepared for the event.
